Here are easy instructions for copying a complete DVD, including the menus and bonus features, to your Mac.
This doesn't need to be a complicated or confusing process, full of billions of settings and configurations. Mac DVDRipper Pro makes the whole thing very quick and simple.
Guide to ripping a complete DVD, including menus and bonus features, to the Mac:
Download the app Mac DVDRipper Pro from our website. You can use the free demo or pay for a full version.
When the download has finished, go to your Downloads folder and double-click on the MDRP zip file.
The expanded app will appear: Mac DVDRipper Pro - aka MDRP. Launch MDRP by double-clicking on the icon.
Your computer might say that this is "an application downloaded from the internet". That's true! Just click Open.
Put in the DVD you want to copy to your computer. If it automatically starts playing, just press the escape key.
Go back to MDRP, where the DVD's title should now appear.
Click on the "Destination:" button to choose where you want the copied movie to end up.
Leave the pull-down menu as it is; it should read: "All videos, menus and bonuses". That means that you will back-up the full DVD, including the extra features and menu system. Choose a different setting ("Rip and convert") if you are planning to watch the film on your iPod, iPhone or iPad.
Click the "Rip" button.
You're done! As soon as the progress bar is done, Mac DVDRipper Pro has finished ripping the DVD to your hardrive, as a full back-up. You can find the files wherever you specified in Step 7.
